Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
Gardening
Our students love spending time in the school gardens, where they help to grow a variety of fruit and vegetables. Gardening not only teaches them about where food comes from, but also gives them the chance to enjoy the fresh air, get their hands in the soil, and experience the calming benefits of being grounded in nature.
Basic First Aid
In term 2 our senior students are given the opportunity to learn basic first aid and CPR skills. These sessions help build their confidence, awareness, and ability to respond in an emergency, while fostering a sense of responsibility for their own wellbeing and that of others.
Bective Small Swimming Carnival
The Small Schools Swimming Carnival at Werris Creek was a fantastic day of fun, competition and community spirit. Students from our small schools allicance came together to showcase their swimming skills and enjoy some friendly races. It was another great opportunity for students to build confidence, stay active, and make new friends in a supportive environment. Congratulations to all participants for their enthusiasm and sportsmanship espcially Currabubula Public School who came away as the Bective champions again this year!
NAIDOC Day
For NAIDOC Day, our students travelled to Somerton to join with other schools in celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. It was a special day filled with learning, art, music, and stories that helped us appreciate and respect the rich history and traditions of First Nations peoples. Our students enjoyed connecting with others and taking part in meaningful activities that promote understanding and unity.
Art Show
Our Small Schools Art Show brings together creative artworks from students across all the small schools in our region. These wonderful pieces are proudly displayed at the Currabubula Red Cross Art Show held in the town hall. This event is a great opportunity for our students to share their talents, celebrate their creativity and be part of our larger community.
Athletics Carnival
In July, we gathered at the Tamworth sports grounds for our annual Bective Small Schools Athletics Carnival. Students from Somerton, Attunga, Duri, and Woolomin came together to compete in a range of track and field events. It was a great day of fun and sportsmanship. Well done to all the students who took part!
